Ipsy Glam Bag + Julep Maven (JUNE 2015 UPDATE!!)

UPDATE: (June 21, 2015) I have felt the need to update my IPSY review since I no longer am subscribed to them for declining quality. Please check out more details near the end of the IPSY portion of the review! Although I am not subscribed to Julep Maven anymore as well, I did not unsubscribe from them due to quality of their products, but just for my own personal finances.

I recently jumped on the monthly box bandwagon with what seems like the rest of the world, and I am never looking back! There seems to be monthly subscription boxes for EVERYTHING—boxes for dog treats and toys, healthy snacks, geeky hobbyists, beauty lovers etc. They are so useful if you know exactly what you want more of, without spending an arm and a leg. For me, it’s make-up and nail polish. I don’t mind having large varieties of either because I love being a guinea pig for new products and like having a huge collection of wacky nail colours.

For that reason, I am currently subscribed to two services! Ipsy Glam Bag and Julep Maven! The former has a really extensive quiz you can take to make sure you get exactly the kind of products you would want to use, and Julep has a shorter quiz to determine what kind of style you are more into. I’ve been subscribed to both for three and four months respectively, so I thought it was time to do a review!

These are a few of my favourite things.

I feel horrible, I haven't really been doing blog posts off the top of my head lately and instead scheduling a bunch of Challenge posts instead. ;A; Life got really busy, I recently found out that a member of my family was hospitalised and I had to fly across the country to be with her in her time of need. A lot of my plans and exciting news had to be put off as a result of all that, so I hope you bear with me!

Here's the outfit leading into the adventure for today~

Pinky Paradise lens review!

Today I'll be reviewing my EOS Candy Blue lenses that I ordered from PinkyParadise.com!

I am really excited to finally own a pair of the renowned EOS lenses for myself--most of the people I have spoken to boast about the comfort and vibrancy of these leneses, and I am going to have to echo that sentiment for the most part. =)

Hello Kitty Forever + an ocean in my tub.

I am so thrilled about the Hello Kitty Forever launch at Forever21! It's an entire line of couture Hello Kitty goods! Despite Chococat really not being a favourite mascot of mine, the majority of the stuff I bought from the line were all Chococat themed! This adds onto my wallet and other Chococat sweater. *A* So much stuff!

Even painted some matching nails inspired by the colours of the clothing!

I wore a coordinate using most of the things I bought and did some Black Friday shopping.

New Modeling Gig! + Lime Crime Review

Hello everyone! I am super ecstatic and just generally so excited to share that I will be modeling for one of my favourite Etsy stores; Starlight Deco Dream! I am really thrilled for this opportunity and I'm always happy to support one of the first stores that really turned me into a frequent shopper at Etsy. Not to mention I looove her wigs.

Like her on Facebook!

So far we have a couple of photoshoots planned for her wigs and merchandise. I can't wait to come up with more coordinate inspired by magical girls for her shoots! =D

I put together a really fun coordinate inspired by Akemi Homura from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. There may be some spoilers in the latter part of the description, so be careful if you haven't watched the anime yet and plan on it. ;D

HUGE POST! PLNDR + Lens Village + Katy Perry Lash Review

This is a pretty insane post, I hope you all stick it out until the end! Beware: this is THREE huge reviews all rolled up into one post to make up for the lack of updates on my end. I finally finished taking the LSAT, so now I have a lot more time on my hands~

(I'm pretty much wearing everything I plan on reviewing in this outfit! Haha~)

In fact, one of them is a very disgruntled negative review, which I'll do first since I think negative reviews are more important for people who are looking for feedback, and also, to end this entry on a more positive note.

Daily Make+Skincare

As someone who is still very much the tomboy she was in high school, I have a hard time justifying wearing copious amounts of make-up in most situations. I generally feel like make-up feels really heavy on my face, or just plain old takes too long. So, in the past couple years, as my experience with make-up and the number of products I have tried has grown, I finally think I found a morning routine that is perfect for my skin type.

Of course, what I am about to say will not work for everyone, but hopefully I can provide tips that can put you on the right path to finding that bliss that is an easy-to-manage morning routine.

My skin is combination oily/normal--although since I live in a place with high humidity, when I go to someplace that is dryer my skin tends to dry out a bit around the lips. But because I live in such a humid climate, my skin care routine is super light and doesn't make you feel like you already starting sweating!

Follow-up on Palty Dye+Root Touch-up Bleach!

Lately my schedule has been fantastic after adopting a new dog (I'll do a post about her soon enough), since she wakes me up right at 7 am (much to my boyfriend's dismay). I'll probably post updates super early in the morning now so I can have the rest of the day to study for my LSAT and run errands. =)

Today, I'm going to continue my previous review about Palty Milk Tea Brown dye--as well as one of their other products, root touch-up bleach! (Excuse the iPhone photos, ALL of my cameras batteries ran out at the same time, so I had to make do with what I have.) These photos have not been edited at all except to add watermark.

Tonnes of Face Masks!

If there is one thing I desperately rely on, it is face masks. Ever since I went to a luxury spa last spring and spoke to the masseuse who gave me an amazing facial for combatting break-outs, I have since started to use a mask every weekend to keep my skin clear and taut. They are great for people fighting wrinkles, fighting acne, or just wanting their face to be brightened. I wish I had my own personal photos for most of the products used, but alas, over the past year and a half I have gone through so many different kinds, and I may not even recall some of them. Here is a list, roughly ordered from favourite to least favourite.

Keep in mind that these are the products that work best for my skin and everyone should figure out what works for them. I have combination skin and I break out mostly on my forehead and cheek bones. My forehead breakouts are usually credited to having bangs--but the ones on my cheek bones usually come from the natural hormone changes a woman goes through every month. I normally do not have a severe acne problem--and I also do not have dry skin on my face, so those of you who are looking to this for solutions to those kinds of problems, please take what I say with a grain of salt. =)
