Ipsy Glam Bag + Julep Maven (JUNE 2015 UPDATE!!)

UPDATE: (June 21, 2015) I have felt the need to update my IPSY review since I no longer am subscribed to them for declining quality. Please check out more details near the end of the IPSY portion of the review! Although I am not subscribed to Julep Maven anymore as well, I did not unsubscribe from them due to quality of their products, but just for my own personal finances.

I recently jumped on the monthly box bandwagon with what seems like the rest of the world, and I am never looking back! There seems to be monthly subscription boxes for EVERYTHING—boxes for dog treats and toys, healthy snacks, geeky hobbyists, beauty lovers etc. They are so useful if you know exactly what you want more of, without spending an arm and a leg. For me, it’s make-up and nail polish. I don’t mind having large varieties of either because I love being a guinea pig for new products and like having a huge collection of wacky nail colours.

For that reason, I am currently subscribed to two services! Ipsy Glam Bag and Julep Maven! The former has a really extensive quiz you can take to make sure you get exactly the kind of products you would want to use, and Julep has a shorter quiz to determine what kind of style you are more into. I’ve been subscribed to both for three and four months respectively, so I thought it was time to do a review!

chibi_tenshi's shopping service!

It has been a while since I actually added a review to this blog, so I thought I would share a review for one of my favourite shopping services!

chibi_tenshi is a familiar name in the lolita community, and for a long time I've always wanted to use her--and I finally got my chance when I saw the advertisements for Misty Sky. Two months later, I used her again to purchase things from Swimmer's physical store as well as purchase something from an auction! I feel like now I have used her for the three main things most Japanese services offer and feel like I can provide an exceptionally detailed review.

These are a few of my favourite things.

I feel horrible, I haven't really been doing blog posts off the top of my head lately and instead scheduling a bunch of Challenge posts instead. ;A; Life got really busy, I recently found out that a member of my family was hospitalised and I had to fly across the country to be with her in her time of need. A lot of my plans and exciting news had to be put off as a result of all that, so I hope you bear with me!

Here's the outfit leading into the adventure for today~

Pinky Paradise lens review!

Today I'll be reviewing my EOS Candy Blue lenses that I ordered from PinkyParadise.com!

I am really excited to finally own a pair of the renowned EOS lenses for myself--most of the people I have spoken to boast about the comfort and vibrancy of these leneses, and I am going to have to echo that sentiment for the most part. =)

Hello Kitty Forever + an ocean in my tub.

I am so thrilled about the Hello Kitty Forever launch at Forever21! It's an entire line of couture Hello Kitty goods! Despite Chococat really not being a favourite mascot of mine, the majority of the stuff I bought from the line were all Chococat themed! This adds onto my wallet and other Chococat sweater. *A* So much stuff!

Even painted some matching nails inspired by the colours of the clothing!

I wore a coordinate using most of the things I bought and did some Black Friday shopping.

Pumpkin Patch Meet + Tate's Comics

I met up with the local lolitas yet again for a fun meet-up for Halloween!

Again, I marked this as "travel" because it was the first time I went to a farmer's market like this that had a corn maze and tractor rides! I felt like I did everything that you're supposed to do on Halloween for once! =D I really want to frequent places like this in the future. I just wish it wasn't so hot. ;___;

I was going to go up the rock climbing wall they have there, but I ended up getting light-headed from standing out in the sun for nearly 20 minutes, so I needed to sit down and take a break, which really sucked. ;A; I wish the weather here would let up.

I ended up wearing an outfit pretty much inspired by; "the clashing colours of Halloween~" I wore orange, purple, and black with a tinge of pink. I really love the cute little pumpkin bonnet I purchased from Cute & Candy Clouds, it kept the sun out of my eyes too! To top it all off, I wore Sweetie Cake's newest creation, her Boo Bear cutsew~

Taobao Shopping + Pruany Review (JUNE 2015 UPDATE!!)

EDIT: (June 21, 2015) I have now felt the need to update this review since I've realised this is one of the first reviews that turns up in a Google search about this SS. I no longer feel comfortable recommending this service to anyone, please check the end of the original post for more details as to why.
This is just part of my stash from a sizable Taobao group order I led this past month. I'm hoping to do them more often, it's so great!

HUGE POST! PLNDR + Lens Village + Katy Perry Lash Review

This is a pretty insane post, I hope you all stick it out until the end! Beware: this is THREE huge reviews all rolled up into one post to make up for the lack of updates on my end. I finally finished taking the LSAT, so now I have a lot more time on my hands~

(I'm pretty much wearing everything I plan on reviewing in this outfit! Haha~)

In fact, one of them is a very disgruntled negative review, which I'll do first since I think negative reviews are more important for people who are looking for feedback, and also, to end this entry on a more positive note.

Hello Kitty meet-up + Kendallicious K Phone Case Review!

This is super picture heavy by the way, so don't say I didn't warn you. ;D

I went to my first lolita meet-up in about two and a half years and met a lot of awesome new girls and a couple of older acquaintances I met through the fashion! I had no idea the community in my area was so large, hopefully we can get together more in the future. I'm putting this under the "travel" tag because I did have to go an hour for this meet-up and I'd never been there before. Bwehehe--plus, with my lack of courage when it comes to driving, going an hour away on my own is like flying to the Bahamas for some reason.

日本ツインテール協会 + Japonica Market Review

Hello everyone! Long time no update. As you can see, I've finally upgraded my blog to the new platform, but I haven't quite gotten around to completely finalising the layout. Soon!!

This time I'm updating about a slightly weebish purchase of mine, merchandise from Japan Twintail Association! I remember one of my close friends who transferred from Japan would always beg me to wear twintails with all of my outfits, and at first I had no idea what she meant by "twintails." Found out later that's just a term for two pigtails, haha! Ever since then I always like to stalk the "twintail" tag on Pixiv and look at the cute artwork--you'd be surprised how many featured really great drawings of outfits I wanted to put together!

Salopette Madness + Dearie Review

Whew, I just got back from a crazy busy trip in Indiana! I attended GenCon for business-related stuff (I will totally blog about that later), and just wanted to write a bit about my newest obsession and show off a couple of pictures of my new rescue, Sora!

Hype this look HERE if you like what you see!

紀伊國屋書店。

This look is on LookBook! Please Hype if you like~

I really love the Japanese bookstore "Kinokuniya" (or "Kinokuniya Shoten"). When I traveled to California recently, I visited the Kinokuniyas in San Jose and San Francisco relatively frequently and was so excited about my purchases! I also knew I absolutely had to take an outfit shot among the bookshelves in the San Francisco branch. =)

Cawaii Wishlist + Two Photos from London!

Thanks to Zeruda, I am now completely hooked on the mori-girl look of Rakuten-based store Cawaii! The look and feel of the clothes is just so comfortable and really reminds me of the kinds of clothes Momoko Tokyo sold. Here are some photos of the store front and the inside that I took while I was there this past March in London~

It was an absolutely gorgeous store filled to the brim with soft colours.

I love DAISO!

I've been focusing on "cute-ing" up my living space~ These are some of the things I've collected on my travels this past year to make my bathroom a more adorable place to be in. I purchased a rabbit ear towel band to keep my hair back when I wash my face and a Rilakkuma contact lens case while I was in London earlier this year, and picked up a handy pink pumice and adorable "panda rabbit" bath sponge at Daiso this past week.
